Inc. (www.makingitbig.com) a catalog and
e-retailer for 24 years, is now the only Northern California
direct-to-consumer retailer of sizes 2X to 8X (also known as
sizes 22 to 48). Making it Big provides quality, natural
fiber, plus size clothing to people throughout the United
States and also has a large international
clientele. 
The
grand opening celebration of the Making it Big showroom is
Saturday, July 19, 2008, with raffle prizes, giveaways,
samples and special pricing. And the showroom is now open, so
anyone wanting to get a head start on the latest fashions is
welcome to visit the new retail facility at MiB's corporate
headquarters. It provides a traditional shopping
experience for local plus size consumers.
Northern California residents make up more than
10% of the company's over 26,000 customers worldwide. An
earlier version of the showroom also became a destination for
loyal, plus size shoppers from around the country, with some
people literally planning their vacations around a Making it
Big visit.
The Making it Big showroom
displays a select sampling from the overall specialty MiB
Collection in a welcoming setting. It also premieres the
newest plus size fashions, introduces unique and specialty
items, and includes special sales, liquidations and other
fashion events.
Unique in the plus size
clothing market, Making it Big designs its own patterns
specifically for plus size women and offers specialized
sizing. Making their clothes from size E (2X equivalent) up to
size L (8X equivalent) means customers don't have to guess
what is a 3X, or an XXL, etc.
Veteran cataloger and CEO
Tracy Amiral says Making it Big is built on providing the
finest customer service, top quality clothing and a great
looking, customized plus size fit.

Despite the slowing
economy in retail sector the plus size apparel industry is
predicting double-digit growth for 2008. Making it Big
recently expanded operations into a 17,000 square foot
facility in Northern California's Wine Country, where it
employs 24 people.
